

Pedro Mauro

12.04 (Thursday) | 12.05 (Friday) | 12.06 (Saturday) | 12.07 (Sunday)Pedro Mauro was born in Nova Europa, São Paulo, in 1953. He began his career more than 50 years ago, drawing western stories for the now-defunct Taika publishing house. He worked as an advertising illustrator in Brazil and New York for over 30 years. In 2014, he returned to comics at the invitation of Gianfranco Manfredi for the Italian publisher Sergio Bonelli Editore, where he illustrated 10 different albums and a Tex story—becoming the first Brazilian to draw Bonelli’s iconic hero. He illustrated the Gatilho trilogy, written by Carlos Stefan, and took part in DC Comics’ Batman: The World anthology. In recent years, he has released three ArtBooks: Mulheres, Cowboys and Bruxas e Piratas. His most recent published work is the album Cangaceira, created in partnership with his brother Jairo Moreno. He is currently working on Procurador 2, written by the late Gianfranco Manfredi. He currently lives in Itu, São Paulo. The artist’s presence at CCXP25 is a partnership between the event and the publisher Trem Fantasma.
