Zidrou, the pen name of Belgian writer Benoît Drousie, is one of the leading figures in contemporary Franco-Belgian comics. Creator of the popular series L’Élève Ducobu (1992), later adapted for film, he has built a career defined by heartfelt storytelling and memorable characters. Over the years, he has collaborated with some of the greatest artists in European comics and written acclaimed works such as The Adoption, Still Lives, The Mundane, Happy Summers, and The Library Whale, which won the Willy Vandersteen Award at the 2021 Atomium Awards. In addition to his creator-owned projects, Zidrou has also revitalized classic Franco-Belgian series such as Clifton, Léonard, and Ric Hochet, cementing his reputation as one of Europe's most versatile and respected comics writers.
