WHEN:

 12.03 (Thursday) | 12.04 (Friday) | 12.05 (Saturday) | 12.06 (Sunday)

Miguel Paiva is one of Brazil’s most important cartoonists and columnists. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1950, he has built a career as a cartoonist, writer, screenwriter, illustrator, and commentator, always combining humor with social and behavioral commentary. He began his career at Jornal dos Sports and later joined the team of O Pasquim, a publication that became a symbol of cultural resistance during Brazil’s military dictatorship.

He created iconic characters in Brazilian pop culture, such as Radical Chic, a symbol of the modern woman in the 1980s and 1990s, and Gatão de Meia-Idade, a humorous take on the crises faced by middle-aged men. He has also worked in theater, television, advertising, and film, in addition to collaborating with Luis Fernando Verissimo on the stories of detective Ed Mort. His characters have been adapted into books, films, and TV series.

Miguel Paiva’s appearance is part of a partnership between CCXP and publisher Cyberpulp Comix, which will launch the Ed Mort Integral collection at the event.
