Ricardo Liniers Siri, known as Liniers, was born in Argentina in 1973. He began his artistic career creating fanzines for friends after realizing he was not meant for law school. He is the creator of the daily strip Macanudo and graphic novels for younger readers, including the Eisner Award–winning Good Night, Planet. Macanudo has been published since 2002 in Argentina’s La Nación and also appears in El País (Spain) and O Globo (Brazil), with English-language collections released in the United States. The strip has become one of the most celebrated in South America. Liniers received the Inkpot Award in 2018 and the Reuben Award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip in 2021. He has published more than 50 books and illustrated covers for The New Yorker and Rolling Stone. He currently lives in Vermont, where he continues to draw Macanudo daily.
